Office Assistant

Are you a detailed and productive person seeking to work in a professional office where your skills can be utilized?

We are a design build home remodeling company here in corvallis. We’re seeking a part time office assistant to help with our administrative workload.

If you’re new to the construction industry that is no problem. We’re looking for someone who has experience in an office, but we’re willing to train the right person. Some tasks are creative and fun, some are mundane and repetitive, others you have to figure out on your own, almost all are independant. 

We need someone who has great communication skills, is self-directed, and doesn’t need to be closely managed. Humility and integrity are both musts. 

This person we hire needs to be action oriented, super productive, and organized. 

If you’re the type of person who enjoys learning, we have some opportunities for further your growth we’d love to share. 

Duties entail:

  • Scanning/filing papers and digital records.
  • Helping our financial, marketing, and production teams with admin tasks. 
  • Light cleaning duties to keep our office client-ready.
  • Answering phones and taking messages.

Requirements:

  • Friendly phone etiquette and a service oriented attitude.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and word), G-suite, and other tech.
  • Great organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to complete a large workload efficiently.
  • Outstanding references.

Selections Designer

Are you an experienced Interior designer? Does the opportunity to participate in building a new design program excite you?

We are looking for an Interior Designer to aid clients in their selections, finishes, and ultimately manage the overall design process. This ranges from smaller projects like kitchens, bathrooms, on up to larger projects such as complete basement remodels and whole home interior and exterior renovations.

Thayer Construction is a design build home remodeler located in Corvallis Oregon. We manage and construct home remodeling projects. We are a first generation company started in 2014 – This means you’ll be working for a company that is young and experiencing growth – a place where you are not a number but genuinely matter.

This is a position for a seasoned interior designer. We are looking for someone who knows how to interact with clients guiding them through the design and ultimately construction process.

We are open to the idea of sub-contracting for this position rather than an in-house hire.

Duties entail:

  • Accompany initial consultations with clients to gather information and provide input on potential projects.
  • Understand and recommend design styles that accomplish the client’s goals and preferences.
  • Work with our Drafter on layout and plan details.
  • Work with clients through selecting and specifying products.
  • Manage the Client relationship from sale to completion of construction. 
  • Maintain customer satisfaction throughout the project
  • Obtain estimates from subcontractors and vendors.
  • So much more!

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of interior design leadership experience OR exceptional promiseIn depth knowledge of design styles and product knowledge.
  • A passion for the aesthetics of design.
  • Must have good communication, job coordination, and supervisory skills.
  • Organizational skills to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Must maintain a professional image, demonstrate a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • The ability to interact and communicate with crews, subcontractors and clients is crucial to this position.
  • Drafting experience is appreciated but not required.

Lead Carpenter

Do you have solid construction experience in residential remodeling? Are you looking for a company that is growing and is dedicated to quality craftsmanship? We are looking for an on-site project lead who can help our family-owned company keep growing. 

Thayer Construction is a design build home remodeler located in Corvallis Oregon. We manage and construct residential remodeling projects including rough carpentry and finish work. This ranges from smaller projects like kitchens, bathrooms, bearing wall removals on up to larger projects such as total basement remodels and whole home interior and exterior renovations. We’ve been in business for 5 years and like to think we’re just getting started. 

We need a bags-on lead carpenter to carry out our remodel projects, someone with an eye for crafting beautiful spaces that we can partner with for the long–term growth of our company; not a short term hire. We have a full workload this summer and are seeking a full-time hire. 

All our work is custom and we need someone who is self-directed and a great problem solver. We do our best to give our clients an amazing experience – with clear communication, attention to detail, and clean worksites. We value high levels of craftsmanship and personal accountability. We’re looking for someone who is dedicated to high standards of client satisfaction, and to run a safe job site. We need someone who has great leadership and communication skills. You’ll be managing our most critical relationships: our team, subs, and clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand residential systems, codes, and order of operations.
  • Rough and finish carpentry, cabinetry, roofing, siding, windows and door installation, flooring, drywall finishing, paint, tile, basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and natural gas.
  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks at construction sites that require extensive physical labor, including lifting, climbing, bending, digging, and operating hand and power tools for 8–10 hours a day. 
  • Able to lift 60 lbs. Repeatedly.
  • Interacting with clients.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years in a similar position.
  • 1+ Years experience supervising others preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and clean driving record.
  • Reliable vehicle (after a period of time we can discuss a company vehicle).
  • Provide your own basic carpentry tools.
  • An eye for crafting beautiful spaces.
  • Great at managing organized and clean worksites.
  • Enjoy interacting with clients.
  • Experience motivating a team.
  • Must be able to read plans and build them.

General Carpenter

Thayer Construction Thayer Construction is a growing full-service design & build construction company located in Corvallis. We manage and construct home remodeling projects. 

Our focus is high-quality interior remodeling; kitchens, bathrooms, basements, bearing walls, whole home renovations, and additions. Our mission is to create beautifully functional spaces and experiences for clients in the Mid-Willamette valley.
